it certainly was an eye opener. I'll not forget the site of us passing Esther and Pierre. . . good times. The Mark 2 is a dream and I'd be pleased to do it again this coming weekend. What an incredible boat... .
who's got one I can take home.....?

It was so good natured of NSB to loan out "Slippery Sam" only to watch beloved craft sail away afording Mr Bonnet a different view of beloved craft not often experienced, hey Jim! ;D Anyway as for pics of this momentous event I`m afraid my little digital failed to work and was consigned to the glovebox in the car!

Atleast Kev must have had a good sail without NSB.

I had a great sail with Esther's good friend Chris, who, by the way, is an excellent driver. What a lovely boat... can someone find one for me.....?

Sorry Kmccabe I have the design in my head, which is probably not best place to keep it. I attempted to put it on paper and failed. But I will do it soon as, and put it on the forum, I'm thinking of building a prototype in the winter, depending on the price of the material, steel keeps going up at the moment. Its basicaly a bigger version of the low slung FF15 road trailer the only differance is we have to support the keel, and has to have brakes.

the tempest here in calgary that is on a full height trailer does not have the keel supported. it has a "groove" that the keel fits between but it is still just hanging.
the only reason we support ours on prairie princess is because we don't have a fixed keel so it's not bolted in when we're towing, so it needed something to sit on.
if the hull is nicely supported the keel should be able to hang free.
we have considered making a plastic trunk for stokka, something that guides the keel on both sides and that applies slight pressure on the bottom of the keel.

having seen the way the Carsington Kids pull the boats out on their special purpose dolleys - Stokka - - you need one of these.

The designer of the Carsington launching trolley has donated the design to the UK tempest association. I will send a PDF copy of the design to anyone making a donation of £10 to the ITA of GB. I use one of these trolleys, and they are excellent. Materials are rectangular hollow section, with some circular tube. Make then in mild steel and galvanise them, or simply go for stainless. Up to you, the costs are marginal.

can you get me a picture? we already have the base trailer for ours, just have to weld on the supports for the boat, and we haven't decided how we want them yet. our problem is that our transport trailer is our launch trolley, so it has to be multi-function and tough enough for canadian roads! (we have to use a four wheel drive truck to put prairie princess where we store her!)
