Entered the local yacht club Sunday Portsmouth race. We raced 3 races. I finished first in the 2nd and 3rd races, but with handicap I won the 3rd. Had a great crew(coach). It was a light wind(1-3kts) and the wind swithed about 10 times in each sort race. We definitely got lucky, but we did get a good start and made some good decisions. It was a huge learning experience for me. Hooked now!

Good for you. That's fantastic. Would you go to tinypic.com and post up some pix of your boat? Browse, find the shot, upload. Copy the {IMG} code and paste it here.

This should be a picture of my Tempest. My photographer was late yesterday, or she could have gotten a better pic. US 307 [Agent:1]

About 10 hours, I think. I'm in Shreveport, LA, and sail at the Shreveport Yacht Club. There used to be an active Tempest fleet here, and I bought 2 of them, US307 and US295. There is another that my daughter's boyfriend(at the time) bought. It's in Alabama now. That boat was sailed in the Olympic Trials by the Puerto Rican team. It's a "distinctive" green and has a spinnaker chute built into the deck. US295 is unsailable and I'm just keeping it for parts. Check out www.shreveportyachtclub.com My hiking straps and telltales came in today, as did my tiller extension, although the tiller extension was damaged, so I have to send it back. UPS has a hard time with long items. I'll try to get some better pics. US307

Here's a picture of US 310. She's a Mader built boat that's in Alabama right now. He's repainting it. It was sailed in the Olympic Trials(or maybe in the Olympics) by the Puerto Rican Team. Outside is green. The owner got it from the same people I got my 2 Tempests(US307 and US295) from. US 295 is in really bad shape. I'll take a pic when I can. I just got her for parts. The registration says 295 is a Richardson built boat. There is also an O'Day Tempest at the SYC. It's not in sailing condittion right now, but It doesn't look like it would take that much to get it sailing. I think the owner has several boats(sounds like all work and no play to me). I'll take some more pics when I can. Does your Tempest have a wire spliced to rope jib halyard? If not, what type line are you using? Thanks, US307 [Agent:1] Attachments:

There! Both of those are of US310 when it was in Louisiana about 3 or 4 years ago.

Is the Puerto Rican boat a Mader with a Launcher?
