Hi Hythe Sailing Club in Southampton are selling our International Tempest sail No 45.
This is an early boat but in good condition.
The Boat is advertised on e-bay auction site with a finish date of next Monday 27 Feb
Starting bid just 99p. Now surplus to our needs.
A really cheap way into Tempest sailing. Boat last used 3 years ago. Still very fast.
International Tempest – Mk 1 - Sail No. 45 – white hull, blue decks.
The boat is a trapeze keel boat and was built we think in the 1970’s and is in quite good condition. The white hull buffs up nicely, the blue decks and floor could use a new coat of paint. She is stored ashore but has been hardly used for over ten years.
Length – 22feet; Weight 1000lbs; hull & deck – glass fibre; Proctor metal mast and boom.
Main and jib 247 sq.ft. Spinnaker – 225 sq.ft.
The boat has two mains (one North Sails (quite good condition) circ. 1988 and a Vogel & Meier (good condition) circ. 90). There is a North Jib (circ. 1988) and a Vogel & Meier jib (circ. 1990). There is also a spinnaker that is old by OK. All the ropes/sheets are available and in good condition.
All the sails are dry stored and in reasonable condition and still very powerful!
All the hatch covers have been re-sealed and the buoyancy tanks are water tight.
She is sitting on a road trailer/launching trolley. There are new bearings in the wheels but the old breaking system has been removed.
The keel was removed from the boat, repaired and re-painted. The keel winch has also been repaired and re-painted and works very well.
The rudder/stock/tiller and tiller extension are also in very good condition and been re-painted.
There is a booklet on how to rig/tune the boat as well as sailing/tuning instructions/guidance notes.
Buyer Collects.
