2008 Worlds are at Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, from 16 – 22 August. Hope to get some photos onto the website when Nigel has fixed it. The venue is superb, with Weymouth Bay for the good weather, and Portland Harbour if it is blowing its socks off, or light weather. Parking for boats, cars and vans is plentiful to say the least, and the centre is a new and well appointed outfit, fully staffed by professionals.
Let's see if we can get a large UK contingent to this event. It is not too far from the Channel ports so should attract good number of European competitors.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the event itself, and with the pre-event organisation, and as always, sponsors will be made very welcome.
John, I you want help, if I can I will! Can we see if any one not going, is willing to lend their boats to some one who would do the worlds? I belive that there might be some cousins from the former colonies, might be comming over so we might need to get hold of some boats for them.
johnonkeowee: Hi, I am purchasing a 1967 Tempest this Saturday. Am looking forward to learning how to race it. Own a Catalina 22 now for 6 years. Know very little about it except that there will be 5 in our club including mine. John
