Big problem. As per the website that you provide the link for
Together with the International Class Associations, a tentative list of competences will be created. These competences (knowledge, skills and behaviour) will determine the course, configuration and sailing instructions.

Still, a couple of years to possibly (house) train a couple of teams, anything is possible... ...then again

Hi,
My name is Rudy den Outer and I'm sorry that you do not have more information yet about the Vintage Yachting Games. First something about myself. I am a former FD, Tempest, Soling and Dragon sailor and also chairman of the Vintage Yachting Games Organization.
The Vintage Yachting Games will add a specific event to the calenders of the participating former Olympic Classes. At this moment the Europe, O-Jolle, FD, Soling, Dragon and 5.5 Metre. This event will also give the International Class Organizations a tool for expanding there class to other countries.
In the past few months I have tied to get in contact with the ITA but so far unsuccessful. I'm not sure if I contacted the right people.
If you are interested in the Vintage Yachting Games please let me know.
Regards
Rudy den Outer

Like wow man! This sounds like a good thing? I'll have you know that I am very skilled knowledgable and generally quite well behaved in the drinking of two pints department and not too bad at kipping in vans either, so put me down as interested in Flying the Tempest flag in true Tempest style!!!!
If Gilly came too they would defenately remember us!

This sounds brilliant. Pity we couldn't make it next years worlds and have 2009 in the Uk. Chat last year in martinique was that 2009 could be Holland. Might make sense to swap years as Dutch Tempest association still in its infancy.

Folks,
Thanks for all the positive reactions. I have send Michael Adams (ITA) the appropriate information. If the ITA wants to join the VYG 2008 I will propose this to the other classes (all ready joined).
The VYG will be different than Worlds since there will be a aim of about 20 boats at the starting line. In case of the Tempest with about 8 countries represented it will come to 3 boats per country.
So let Michael Adams know you are interested as well.
Regards

Understood. It was only an idea. Think we might struggle to get eight different countries represented.
