Hi all Just a reminder Those intend to attend the Nationals at Carsington need to get their entries in by the end of April, please remember that there needs to be an entry 15 minimum for this event to continue! Now some of you have posted their intentions on this thread so nows the time to fill those entries in and let Ged have them ASAP! Those that have not had an Entry form can find it at uktempest.co.uk/event%20notice.htm and make sure that return the booking for the meal with your entry! Nige. [Agent:2]

Hi Nige
What happens if we don't get the 15 boats, as this appears to be a tall order, at the moment. UYC boats will be about five at best in fact I could see it being as low as three.

Hmmm. 15 boats sounds unlikely. 3 from UYC, the best we will get is the 3 Budden boats from Arun. 9 from Carsington and other places is a stretch.
Will try to get hold of Derek to find out if the Budden family are coming to the party.

After speaking to Ged last night (Wed) he said 15 was the minimum and less than that could see the event cancelled. He has had only one confirmed booking so far and is rather concerned!

Where are all the carsington boats? At least last year we had almost all the Ullswater boats out

We are at 5 boats from Ullswater at today's count. C'mon Carsington get your proverbial fingers out and commit yourselves to an event at your own club.

What worries me is when do we get to know whether or not we have an event, as I have booked accommodation, and made travel arrangements, also this the first time I’ve heard about a 15 boat minimum entry, I’m surprised this has been agreed to as Ullswater came short of fifteen last year. This year we have seen some crews who would normally be there retire, I do hope we get 15+ this would make a great event.

A bit of good news. There are 3 Budden boats coming and they are NOW aware of the need to enter by the end of April. Our cheque is in the post if it has not already arrived.
Can't answer organisational questions as I am not involved in the organisation of this event just concerned of Watford. I have seen us loose events in the past because we all thought that we could turn up on the day and pay.

The 15 boat minimum entry is now a requirement imposed by CSC management to qualify for our own individual open meeting. Entries will need to be confirmed preferably by the end of April though we may be able to stretch this by a few days. The Carsington fleet is very depleted this year and we are unlikely to see more than 4 CSC boats taking part if the event happens. A final decision on the event will be taken at the Sailing Committee meeting Monday 14/05/07 but if we do not get the enties the event will be cancelled.

On that score I don't see it happening, I take it that the four includes badlydrawn, three from Arun leaving eight required from Ullswater, unlikely I'm sorry to say. Perhaps it should be re-allocated to Ullswater again, at least we would have a decent home fleet.
