Just a question, has there always been a limit of 15 boats. As a class that has always towards the top end of numbers for the nationals, should we have looked earlier to organise the event with another fleet.

It's certainly the way forward for the future, bit late for this year though

Perhaps another club would apreciate the extra bar takings and entry fees for a national event?

The Nationals are going ahead at Carsington inspite of the poor entry level, and somehow we will get round the 15 boat rule. As to finding another club that will run a 3-day National event for 10 or 11 boats good look to you. It will be good if the wind blows [Agent:2]

Hi Tempest Sailors,
You all seem to have just the same problems we have in the Soling Class, fortunately Royal Northumberland don't seem to be imposing a minimum limit on us. Despite us having 3 quite strong fleets (Fleetwood 10, Fortwilliam 7, & Barry 6) we struggle to get more than 10 at our Nationals. And this year even with a German and an Argentinian coming we look like having only 8.
Perhaps we should talk at Ullswater and see if we could link up again in the future.
Best wishes to you all.
Derek Priestley Soling GBR 169.

Definetly. See you 5th May at Ullswater. We have a Derek Priestley at our club, can't possibly be two.

regards fifteen boat entry after discussion at Ullswater its my understanding we will still have a Nationals, the only differance would be we may have to join the club fleet. Is this the case or do we have to orginise somthing at short notice, it appears we have a bad situation here if CSC are still insisting on fifteen boats why did we agree to go to CSC, whats the need to continualy go to clubs where we have fleets I no of clubs who would gladly accomodate the Tempest regardless of numbers.

Yes guy's & gal's the event is on. We should have at least 16 teams of international athletes competing for space at the bar. We will be sharing our course with about 6 or 8 shed's on the Saturday so that we can use all the water and we will have our own course on Sunday & Monday. Saturday's evening meal is not to be missed so don't forget to book in advance.
If the sun's not shining I will still love it

The Man from Fotoboat is coming to take our mug shots on the Monday which should give everybody the chance to get a hangover, a good tan or to turn rusty. See you when the sun shines [Agent:2]
