Has anybody heard how the Yank got on when he visited Gods own County to try a Mark two (thats quite a topical number!) out? Further more he stayed at my gaff and drolled over my Tempest pictures all night It got quite embarrassing at some points!
He then explained to me that he didn't drink because he has a condition whereas he may become ill and slip into a comma...And?
Mind you nice Mr McCabe when we find you a new boat I'm hoping I get an invite to your posh club to come and show you how to sail one..
Oh yes and another thing.. apparently there's a ro ro ferry from UK to US so if we did have the Worlds there WE COULD TAKE THE VANS!! Kevin did say though that they may get a bit snotty if we try and kip in them at the New York Yacht Club!

We felt sorry for him, as he was very upset the week before. I have to say the my helm was off playing, as being from the part of the world that drives on the wrong side of the road, he wanted to go the other way around the marks.
(Kevin, not realy true, but it might stop him gloating) CLUELESS that is

OK, one all (well that's better than posts of TWO NILL that keep appearing all over the place).
I think that I am being generous given the exposure of my bald bits and useless bed mending skills to anybody with the stamina to make their way through this crazy forum.

Okay, I'm a fat Yank. 250 lbs. I've admired the Tempest since she first came on the scene. Has anyone sailed (not raced) them singlehanded just for cruising around purposes. If so, what is the strongest amount of wind that it's comfortable to do that in? I live in a place where winds up to 12 knots are most common and the water is protected and flat. I'm looking to get the fastest 20-24 foot keel boat that I can keep on a trailer (off season) and rig/maintain by myself.

Hi DT and welcome. Don`t know about singlehanded cruising, but there is an wonderful article in "The Sandbag" written in the 70s by Roger and Marty Gilbert (US44), which describes a cruising trip they made, even sleeping aboard, it is a lovely article and well worth reading! www.tempestclass.com/Info/sandbag/appendC.htmlNige. PS. Please stick around and register, we welcome all here, we also have one or two stateside members on here so you`ll feel right at home.
