How do you go about getting a boat re-measured? Some of the older boats were measured over 30 years ago and have subsequently gone up in weight as is inevitable. If they are also carrying correctors surely there must be a way of re-weighing / measuring so that the correctors can be removed if found appropiate

isn't that the case for the UK class to re-measure the boat? Don't you have all the templates to re-certify a Tempest?

I'd be interested in becoming a sail/ boat measurer, how do we go about being able to become such a beast? suppose it's down to the RYA? or is it ISAF? perhaps El Presidentee could point us in the right direction?

I'm trying to remember who it was who said that a complete set of measurement templates is available in the UK. . . wish we had that in the US.

I'm tryng to get two temepst re weighed, I have what i think will be a reasnable solution. However it brought to my attention, we are little thin on the ground with measures, plus if we are to progress the class we need some guidance on what we can and can't do with with older boats. Especially with weight the old boats pre 1980 are definetly heavy and don't need there correctors, could we not have an amendment to the class rules where by the correctors can be removed after a certain age.

If you read the rules the weight issue is handled pretty easily. If the boat has gained weight with age, then you take the lead out.

Yes you can take the lead out but the new weight has to verified, by the class measurer, thats where the hassle starts.
